  About the USIP

The International Police Sports Union was founded as Union Sportive Internationale des Polices (USIP) in Paris on May 23rd 1990 by on the initiative of the police sports activists from Spain and France.

The founding members were the representatives of the following countries:
ALGERIA - SAUDI ARABIA - ARGENTINA - BAHRAIN - BELGIUM . CHINA - DENMARK - EGYPT - UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - SPAIN - FRANCE - FINLAND - GREECE - THE NETHERLANDS - HUNGARY - IRAQ - IRELAND - ICELAND - ITALY - JORDAN - KUWAIT - LEBANON - LUXEMBURG - LIBYA - MOROCCO . MAURITIUS - NORTH YEMEN - NORWAY . OMAN - PALESTINE - PORTUGAL - MONACO - QATAR - UNITED KINGDOM - SOMALIA - SUDAN - SOUTH YEMEN - SWEDEN - SWITZERLAND - SYRIA . FORMER CZECHOSLOVAKIA - TUNISIA AND FORMER SOVIET UNION.

The registered office and residence of the USIP is the office of the General Secretariat in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.

Objectives

One aim pursued by the USIP is to promote sports within all police forces on the worldwide and primarily organisation of the World Police Championships in different sports disciplines. The World Police Championships are held every years - according to the calendar of events - in the following disciplines: cross country, football, judo, marathon, cycling, shooting, triathlon and volleyball. All the our championships play an important role in deepening knowledge of the culture and customs of different countries, as well as are arena for the exchange of professional experience between police officers, who always should be a friends. Another goal of the USIP is creating opportunities to further develop the friendly and professional relations between the various police forces from all continents.

Congress - highest authority of the USIP. The Congress of the USIP takes place at two-years. For participation in this event, each member country has a right to be represented by the authorised delegates. All votes of the USIP members have equal weight irrespective of the size of the country.

Executive Committee - The USE is run by an Executive Committee. This Executive Committee consists of the representatives of different member nations. The Executive Committee consists of: the president, three of the vice-presidents, the secretary-general. The members of the Executive Committee are elected by secret vote for a period of 4 years. They may be re-elected twice.

Technical Committee - The Technical Committee is responsible for creation of the Competition Rules applicable to the various sports disciplines, has a right to appointment the organisers of sports events and supervises an organisation of the Championships in respective sports disciplines. Elections to the Technical Commission are governed by the same provisions as elections to the Executive Committee.

Auditing Committee - The Auditing Committee is a permanent and independent institution that oversees the legal and financial activities of the USIP. The Auditing Committee consists of one Chairman and three Members

Intercontinental Sports Council - The International Sports Council is a permanent institution of the USIP and may consist of representatives of the Ministries of Interior, Headquarters of Police and other governmental bodies, International Olympic Committee, International Sports Federations, continental or regional police sports organisations and the natural or legal persons, which are declare financial or other support of statutory activity of the USIP
